36

After the sobering revelation was made to me by my husband that I was now closer to 50 than I was to 20, I must say that so far 36 is looking good. One of the better birthdays that I've had. Not that the other's haven't been, but things were just well-timed.
. . . a weekend day so I could sleep late.
. . . a day Greg was off work.
. . . a Sunday so I was with all my friends and church family. Twice.
. . . the Cowboys actually won. And I cared.
. . . my favorite Starbucks drink delivered by my best friend to wake me up.
. . . an era of Facebook where it reminds friends you never see or haven't seen in years to tell you "Happy Birthday!" All day. :)
. . . an afternoon of laying around and nothing to do.
. . . a day off from working. Well, kinda.
. . . an evening of thankfulness spent at my church's Thanksgiving feast with all my favorite food and as many helpings as my stomach can take.
. . . reminders of my special day by my sweet kids.
. . . generous gifts from special friends and family, knowing exactly what I needed or wanted.
. . . all combined to be reminders of the many undeserved blessings the Lord has given me and wants me to pay forward!

So . . . what does THIS year hold? Only God knows, and I am thankful He has me in a place where I trust His plan and hold on to His sovereign hand. I pray only that He continues to mold me into the servant, wife, mother, friend, daughter, and sister He wants me to be.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
James 1:17

My Hero

I'm always so proud when I am able to share with Greg in his things for work. I went to his annual awards banquet. It was also time for his 10-year pin! Way to go Babe! I love you and am proud of all the lives you touch and SAVE all the time. You amaze me.

The 10 year certificate (years of service didn't make the stage this year . . .
you don't want to hear my opinion on that). :)

Packing Weekend with Bethany Ministries

After a terrific weekend of visiting with, staying with and learning more about Bethany Ministries with Sherrie, Debbie and Ricky while at our church's Global Missions Weekend, we took advantage of the opportunity to get more involved. We drove down to Kountze, TX and helped pack boxes of medical supplies, clothes, and books that are going to be shipped, God willing, to Zimbabwe, Africa at the end of the year. It was a privilege to get involved and we hope to continue to do so in different ways throughout the years!

OUR NEW HOME!!

Down on the farm . . .
So, all I can say is, the Lord is amazing and loves to give good gifts to His children. What an unbelievable blessing to have been able to move here. Lots of space for the kids to play, the "little house" for my photography office and future studio as well as multiple outdoor spots for picture-taking. God is good!

SOCCER!

Wes and his sports. He loves them. And he loves soccer. :) It is also very good for him . . . great energy release! Not sure how long the soccer sport will last since he will have to start choosing soon, but for now we love watching him grow physically and learning to work with others in this way!
